A saree stands out best when the fabric falls smoothly around the curves of the body. This particular piece does just that. A grid is placed on pure Red & Black silk with ‘Samudra Manthan’ used as the art.

Art on silk

A red silk border runs all around the saree with wooden buttons edging the pallu; indeed, it is creativity personified!

Style Tip

Our stylist recommends this saree to be teamed with a sexy corset or a crop top from your wardrobe, to create that artistic flare.

About the Art

Samudra Manthan

-By Dr. Jatinder Singh Bhogal

Legend has it that the Devas (Gods) and the Asuras (Demons) collaborated in a rare joint endeavor to churn the ocean and reap all the treasures that it held. The churning yielded amrut (nectar of eternal life) but it also yielded the most deadly poison. The Devas kept the Amrut and the only one who could handle the poison was Lord Shiva. He drank the poison and his throat turned blue as a result, earning him the name “Neelkanth”. This painting by Dr. Jatinder Singh Bhogal so beautifully weaves the story of Samudra Manthan and all the treasures that were reaped from it.

kimkara creates just one saree apiece. If this particular saree has already found its owner we can create a unique one just for you based on the same Art and as per your specifications.
