Inspired by the Vietnamese áo dài, the straight cut tunics are more commonly known as kurtees in India. Just like the áo dài, a kimkara tunic is designed to have a figure-hugging fit at the top and a long flowy bottom with high slits, almost to your waist to accentuate those feminine curves. In this particular piece, the neckline has been beautifully embellished with cutwork and resham (silk) threadwork
